Frequently Asked Questions
Where are your podiatry offices located?
Foot Specialists of Memorial has two convenient locations serving the greater Houston area: our Gessner office at 915 Gessner Road Suite 460, Houston, TX 77024, and our Greenhouse office at 2051 Greenhouse Rd Suite 150, Houston, TX 77084. Both offices offer the same state-of-the-art podiatric care.
How do I schedule an appointment?
You can request an appointment online through our website or by calling the office most convenient for you. Our friendly staff will help you find a time that fits your schedule and answer any questions about your visit.
What conditions do your podiatrists treat?
We treat a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, including bunions, heel spurs, plantar fasciitis, ingrown toenails, plantar warts, neuromas, and sports injuries. We also offer advanced services such as custom orthotics, EPAT shock wave therapy, and Lapiplasty bunion surgery.
Do I need a referral to see a podiatrist?
In most cases a referral is not required to schedule an appointment with us. However, some insurance plans do require one, so we recommend checking with your insurance provider before your visit to confirm your coverage.
Are your podiatrists qualified to perform surgery?
Yes. Our physicians are residency trained in foot surgery as well as reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery, providing patients with expert surgical care when it is needed. We always pursue the least invasive effective treatment first.
Do you treat patients of all ages?
Yes. Foot Specialists of Memorial provides comprehensive foot and ankle care for patients of all ages, from children to seniors. Each treatment plan is tailored to the patient’s age, activity level, and specific needs.
What should I expect at my first appointment?
Your first visit includes a discussion of your symptoms and medical history, a thorough examination, and, if needed, diagnostic imaging. Your podiatrist will then explain the findings and recommend a personalized treatment plan.
Do you offer non-surgical treatment options?
Absolutely. The majority of foot and ankle conditions can be managed without surgery using treatments such as custom orthotics, EPAT therapy, footwear modifications, and physical therapy. Surgery is reserved for cases that do not respond to conservative care.
How can I prevent common foot problems?
Wearing supportive, properly fitted footwear, maintaining a healthy weight, practicing good foot hygiene, trimming nails correctly, and addressing minor discomfort early all help prevent foot problems. Regular checkups are especially important for those with diabetes.
